Abstract

Pongo is one of the sub-districts in Wangi-Wangi District which is the center of the Wakatobi administration as well as being a tourist destination that receives many foreign tourists. Tourism development is not running optimally because one of the main supports is not fulfilled, namely the English language skills of the local population, especially the children who become guides, are very low. One of the goals of this community service activity is to make it easier for the public to communicate with foreign tourists and increase interest in learning and ability to speak English in early childhood. The ability to speak English is very much needed because now is the era of globalization that makes people have to be able to communicate globally. This service is carried out using the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach, which prioritizes the utilization of assets and potential that exist around and are owned by the community and their utilization independently and optimally.
