Pemanfaatan Limbah Puntung Rokok Guna Sebagai Pembasmi Hama Tanaman Berbasis Pupuk Bio-Pestisida Di Desa Lalowua

Abstract


The existence of cigarette butt waste has not been utilized properly and until now it has only been thrown away as rubbish. In fact, tobacco from cigarette butt waste has the potential to be used as a bio-pesticide for environmentally friendly agricultural activities. This research aims to analyze the quality and efficiency of tobacco from cigarette butts as a Bio-Pesticide, determine the residue in corn measured using a Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) instrument and determine the intensity of pest attacks using the maceration extraction method. Chemical compounds are obtained by comparing the peak areas of the chromatogram for each sample. This research shows that Alkaloid and Terpenoid compounds are forms of chemical compounds contained in Bio-Pesticides. The Bio-Pesticide residues detected were hexadecanoic acid and dodecanoic acid, the content of these compounds is included in saturated fatty acids. The intensity of pest attacks on corn plants using Bio-Pesticides on plants attacked by caterpillars was 21%, which is in the medium category. Meanwhile, the intensity of pest attacks on plants without using Bio-Pestsida is 69% and is included in the puso pest attack category (the most severe). These results show that cigarette butt waste has good potential to be used as a Bio-Pesticide to replace pesticides on the market.
