by Deneen Zouch (2020-02-23)

It's less than a month since she split with DJ Mark Foster.

And now firmly back on the singles market, Sarah Harding has admitted that what she really wants is a baby.

In an interview with this week's Hello! magazine, the Girls Aloud beauty says that seeing her two former bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle have little ones has made her sit up and pay attention to her own biological clock.

'I'm not ready right now,' she continued. 'I do want to be a mum one day. I still have a few years to go but I do go through stages where it plays on my mind.'

On the subject of the sad collapse of her two-year relationship with former childhood sweetheart Mark, she admits their split was a huge disappointment.

'I guess it's a lovely thought, isn't it, that the person you're meant to be with was one of your first loves all along. That whole destiny thing,' she told the magazine.

'And I'm really hoping that at some point in the future we can be friends because we have a lot of history.'

The former couple are said to have fallen apart due to the strain of Sarah's stint in BBC gymnastics competition Tumble.

However, the pretty singer actually credits the competition with helping to mend her broken heart.

She said: 'I learned that I am a lot stronger and more determined than I realised and I think I needed that confidence boost.

'The break-up did shake me and of course I was upset,' she continues.

'But I had put so much into the show, I knew I had to focus and that's what I did.'

Reflecting on the lessons that she's learnt from their demise, bandarq Sarah says she needs to learn how to relax when she's part of a couple, and just enjoy the moment instead of planning ahead.

'It's taught me not to expect the world from every relationship and to live in the present more,' she said.

With a failed engagement to DJ Tom Crane also under her belt, along with an ill-fated romance with Theo Van Dries, who she met in rehab in 2011, Sarah has decided to swear off dating for the time being.

'I definitely can see that I need to stay single for a while because the worst thing I could do right now would be to rush into another relationship,' she said.

'I've been guilty of that in the past but I need to spend some time on my own, concentrating on me and what I want from life.'
