The Effect of Culture-Based Flashcard Media on the Beginning Reading Ability of Mentally Disabled Students
Abstract
This study analyzed how much influence cultural-based flashcard media had on the beginning reading ability of mentally disabled students in class II at SLB Tunas Sejahtera Seyegan Sleman using the one group pretest posttest design method and using non-parametric statistical data analysis techniques, namely the Wilcoxon signed rank test. marked Wilcoxon) who first carried out the pretest and quantitative data analysis, then continued with the treatment and carried out the posttest and quantitative data analysis at this stage. The results of the analysis obtained in this study were Z = -2.201 with P 0.028 below 0.05 which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted at a significant level of 5%. Based on the results of quantitative data analysis, the initial reading ability of mentally disabled students at Tunas Sejahtera Special School has increased, so the conclusion in this study is that there is an influence of culture-based flashcard media on the mental disabled students' initial reading ability at SLB Tunas Sejahtera Seyegan Sleman.
