As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

General Guidelines

Al-Munzir: Journal of Communication and Islamic Broadcasting accepts scholarly articles—both research and non-research papers—in English or Bahasa Indonesia that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to other journals or publications.

Submitted articles must be the original intellectual work of the author(s) and must be accompanied by a declaration of authenticity, stating that the work is free from plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct.

Manuscripts should be relevant to the scope of the journal, including (but not limited to): communication studies, Islamic broadcasting, da’wah communication, media studies, journalism, digital media, and other related topics within the field of communication and Islamic dissemination.

Manuscripts may be based on field research, case studies, conceptual analysis, or literature reviews that contribute to the development of knowledge and practical application in the respective field.

Articles must be written using a formal academic style. Informal or non-academic writing will not be accepted for review.


Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format, typed using Times New Roman, 12 pt font size, with 1.5 line spacing, on A4-size paper, and justified alignment.

  • To be considered for a review, both research and non-research papers should consist of 5000-6000 words excluding references.

Structure of Articles

1.Research or Non-research paper should include: (a) Title; (b) Full name of contributor(s) without titles, institution, and email; (c) Abstract (max. 250 words), it must be in English.; (d) Keywords (3-5 words); (e) Introduction; (f) body text; and (g) references. Research paper should contain: (a) Title; (b) Full name of contributor(s) without title(s), institution, and email; (c) Abstract (max. 250 words); (d) Keywords; (e) Introduction, which includes review of related literature and research purpose; (f) Methods; (g) Findings; (h) Discussion of the Findings; (i) Conclusion; (j) References; and (k) Appendix, if any.

All manuscripts must be written in essay style, not in bullet points. A more detailed writing outline may be provided upon request.


Citation and Reference Style

Authors must follow the APA 6th edition referencing style.
The use of reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero is highly recommended to maintain consistency and citation accuracy.

Authors are fully responsible for checking the accuracy of quotations, grammar, data presentation, tables, and figures before submission.


Submission Process

  • All authors must register through the Al-Munzir online journal system before submission and complete all required metadata fields.

  • Manuscripts are submitted via the journal’s online submission system.

  • Alternatively, if technical issues occur, manuscripts and a brief contributor CV may be submitted via email: almunzirfuad@gmail.com.

  • Each submission will undergo initial editorial screening before being forwarded to double-blind peer reviewers.

  • Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer and editor feedback before final acceptance.

Authors who publish with Al-Munzir agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.

  • All works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which allows others to share and adapt the work with appropriate credit to the original author and initial publication.

  • Authors may enter into additional non-exclusive distribution agreements (e.g., institutional repositories, book publications), with acknowledgment of the original publication in this journal.

  • Authors are encouraged to share their work online during and after the submission process to foster academic exchange and increase citation impact (see The Effect of Open Access).


Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the purposes of this journal and will not be shared with third parties for any other purpose.


Author Fees

Al-Munzir: Journal of Communication and Islamic Broadcasting does not charge submission fees (APCs).

However, for articles accepted for publication, the following Article Processing Charges (APC) apply:

  • IDR 250,000 for authors based in Indonesia

  • USD 15 for international authors
